At least with Qualitative their presence is pretty much known.
The recent Netgain conference in Toronto organised by the MRIA had many good open discussions on online fraud. One beauty is some clever geezers in China who developed software to fake emails, ISPs and sign up for research panels all over the world to generate cash.
