OMG, they said "enter one number" instead of "enter a number", which clearly shows that the MR industry is going down in flames.
And did you notice the two dots at the end?? Outrageous! Good thing we have a MR guru such as yourself to point out the dreadful state of survey proofreading.
It might look to you like I'm picking at nits, but look at it from the respondent's POV: if I see little annoyances like this one, and big ones like long matrix question constantly, every time I answer a survey, multiple times per survey. Not only is it annoying, but eventually I will ask myself: "if you don't put in the effort to do a good job when you build your survey, why should I put in the effort to answer it?"
Whether you're looking for a mate, interviewing for a job, or asking people for their opinions ... presentation IS important. If you want to prove me wrong keep doing what you're doing and let me know when it starts producing positive results. :)
OK, point taken, little annoyances build up over time to big annoyances. I can agree to that.
But really, dude, keep the "SURVEY FAIL!!11" posts for bigger fish that we have to fry. Let's not trivialize this whole discussion, because what you're saying is important and I think you're doing a good job so far.
I am the growing multitude of people in the Market Research industry who have realized that the status quo is obsolete, and we face a choice between evolution and extinction.
