It's Spam all Spam!

Not sure if it's just spam, or the fact that the market research industry has relied on incentivized surveys for too many years ...

Looks like, smells like...

just google, "take surveys" and see where you end up. You may be surprised, you'll definitely be disgusted.

Okok, I get that we all hate the crooks that drag taking surveys down to the get-rich-quick level. But you have to offer respondents something, so they feel taken seriously - reward is a powerful motivator. Cash or equivalents may not work, so let's offer something else they care about. IMHO donations on respondents' behalf are good, esp. if you offer people a few to pick from. Thoughts?

What's interesting here is that people are giving away data via social media and apps, especially games that are linked to social media.

We know how to get people engaged and to participate without bribing them--the whole point of MR is to aid marketing, which wants to get you fired up and engaged in a situation where you part with money. So why not apply that to getting people to participate?

Engage them with virtual rewards that decay with time, encourage them to maintain an accurate infographic on themselves, and give added in system rewards/delays on decay via participation in microsurveys. Basically, instead of FarmVille, SurveyVille. All the pieces are there.

Awesome post. Blogs are a very natural way to attract links. I’d love to see a post on how to get your company to blog. Particularly if you are dealing with a large, conservative company.

The author has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: No truth is universal, everything has its exception. Thanks for the info
